How to make a child eat something, or holiday dishes for a picky eater

I have been struggling with food selectivity for years, and my child is also a problem. Which is not hard to do.

Is this being selective or are you just a picky eater?

Since the problem concerns vk database  my son and me. I am writing in general  although in fact about 90% of the parents . I talk to have the problem of “fussy eaters”. Meanwhile, it turns out that in most cases the problem is only in the parent’s head, because the child eats and likes various things, just not the kind and quantity that the parent would expect from them.

There are also children  who really have a problem with eating and the problem is not just that they don’t like carrots and don’t finish everything in their food.

My first clue that my son was in this group was that… he didn’t like chocolate. How can a child not like chocolate? Well, maybe. And just as my second son can smell it from a few feet away, my first son won’t touch anything hard and chewy [this also includes candy, harder bars, tough meats, etc.].

Who is a real picky eater? How to make

Such a person eats less analysis of the availability of this term  than 20 products and often gives up entire food groups [e.g. soft or hard foods]. Once a product is rejected, it is difficult to reintroduce it to the diet, and the meal of such a person is always different from the rest of the family and, in addition, it usually causes stress.

I have struggled for a very long time with the beliefs of parents that their children are “fussy eaters”, when in reality these children ate more per day than my child did in a week. When blood counts and regular tests are a regular ritual for us, because we are still on the verge of anemia, and when I finally convince my son to eat an additional product [for example a tomato], he gives up another one [grapefruit]. As if he had a limit in his head for these few regular products and nothing new could fit.

Carlos Gonzales’ Experiment

If you keep feeding your china data  child and you are stressed . That they are not eating anything then maybe. If you cannot change your child’s approach to eating, it is worth changing your approach to your child? Maybe you really just let it go? Say: Hey, daughter/son, it is me, your mother, who has been forcing you to eat for so many years . I was wrong, I am sorry. From today on – please! You decide whether you want to eat and when you stop being hungry. And do it. And observe. Let them eat as much as they want. For a week. For a week, do not force, do not persuade, do not whine, do not stand, do not scare, do not set conditions. No one has ever starved to death for a week, but if after a week your child has not lost even a kilogram, then maybe all this forcing is pointless and all your nerves were wasted, because the child is eating something without being forced? Something that is absolutely enough for them?

The Gonzales experiment looks like this: How to make

When  first quoted this advice  got a few outraged reactions .  That with this method the child would eat absolutely nothing  find it hard to believe.  Because my son ate at least five products in the worst period of his life.  And if he really doesn’t eat anything, instead of stuffing it, it’s better to rush to a specialist, because only he can help. With food and forcing food is like with spinal injuries – leave it to the specialists, if you start digging yourself, you’ll ruin someone’s health.

How to get a child to eat something?

One of my methods for slowly expanding the diet [for example, getting used to tomatoes/cucumbers] is to put a tomato on the child’s plate or next to it. Just so it can lie there. Just so the smell is noticeable, so the a tomato for the first time.
