Users can add context to posts that may contain fake news. This is similar to the system on X.

Restrictions on topics such as gender, immigration and elections are lifted.
Relaxation of enforcement policy
Only serious violations such as illegal content will be actively addressed. Minor violations tikTok’s video editing app? will remain unless users report them.
What are the consequences of the changes?
This is what Zuckerberg said in the video announcing the changes:
We’re going back to our roots and focusing on reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies, and creating more caseno data space for freedom of expression on our platforms.
Now this sounds great, but what do these changes actually mean? What will Facebook, Instagram and Threads look like when these changes are implemented?
This is what you can expect in your feed
1) You will no longer see fact-check messages
Four years ago, Meta implemented a fact-checking program to better moderate content. According to Meta, this also resulted in a lot of innocent content being removed and users being wrongly locked up in ‘Facebook jail’. This is now being reversed.
In place of the fact-checking program, Meta is now implementing “community notes.” Similar to X, community members can add context to shared content. Meta’s Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan notes that users will see “a much less intrusive label” and have the option to view additional content.
